Woah Im Going To Ireland!

Usually when holiday and ireland are mentioned in the same sentence i think of anti english music in pubs, ferrys, realtives with red faces and church, church and more church. ok so stereotypical. But im actually looking forward to this one, probably because its relaxing to go there, no stress, no self obsessed business people just me, family, church and the wolfetones constantly played. so while most people get sunshine and smiles i get gaelic i only half know and rain, rain, rain.

Preparing For The Bassline Takeover

Ok...so tonight i went to a dance, just a catholic community one, nothing big and did the soulja boy which was good and the rolex sweep with everyone(that knew it) and then after some hip hop and rnb "shawty get low low low low low", "dont like his baggy jeans but i like whats underneath them" and some beyonce wine (was hoping to sing along to some tony matterhorn but didnt come on) :(...the dj started playing Bassline. Now im yet to convert, i wasnt feeling heartbroken maybe because it was everyones ringtone, bus, myspace and music channel, and wasnt really into "gonna be mine" but i suppose its because none of my friends are into it so im not really in the know too well. There were boys and girls skanking uncontrolably to "u wot u wot", i like the video saw it on channel u, but im still stuck on grime and was kind of annoyed that it was track after track, but then i actually stated to like it as if i just gave up fighting. so i came home and asked my brother who considers himself a bassline expert/glowstick raver, that played me some songs and sent me some youtube links and now im listening to some t2 tracks and im not completely there yet but in time ill be screaming "u wot u wot" myself. I havent replaced grime though and probably never will but the lesson is..dont be too quick to judge.

Hitting High Notes

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon....ok. Me and my friend used to be in looove with him back when he was in Love Dont Cost A Thing, and then i heard he and Christina Millian - Ms Am To Pm, were an item but Mariah deserves happiness because like Mary J i was getting sick of hearing Sad songs and now she can sing those upbeat tracks, the kind that make you feel good. So although everyones shocked, i congratulate them, woo!

Daddy Cool

i waited outside burtons for my dad because i had a bad experience in their with a fellow customer that accused me of not saying excuse me when i clearly did and after he spat on me, oh what a gentleman, i was told that i was no longer welcome inside the store and to add insult to injury it wasnt as polite as that oh no miss feminism said "dont let the one with the hair in again" to the whole staff rota. So now i stand outside which is fine with me but not for my dad who needs advice on his clothes because otherwise he just buys to get out, he hates to shop, he has a habit of buying brown. He had enough of umming and arring over blue striped shirt or blue none striped shirt and dragged me in. After helping him choose a black shirt his phone rang, now since it was sale day the store was somewhat over crowded and when a middle aged man has a mobile on which Wearing My Rolex is its ringtone can provide some amusement, but that was not all, for some reason he only answers after the word babble and then shouts "hello Dave, yeah mate 5 a side was alright, no problems". i said nothing when he played it in the car or when he requested it on his ipod, but ringtone, i draw the line. he can go back to the wolftones streets of new york

ZEZI...Love her hair, best presenter on tv right now even if it is on career begging big brother, but still shes Bigg.

Wellington Fever

Being a festival virgin, i am repeatedly told that i am missing out and that because i love music so much i should see more gigs etc.
This year, in advance i planned to go to Glastonbury only a few minor glitches in the way, i was broke(still am), sixteen with no transport, friends equally broke, from what ive seen on tv wellies are just not a good look for me and the internet proved this when i couldnt find any adidas ones so i came to the conclusion that next year i am definitley going.
I was abseloutley gutted when Jay Z was announced that i would miss him but one day i will see mr carter if i have to walk.
Even though i am not going i will be stalking the event via the internet and tv coverage...thank the almighty for technology.

The Hair Bear Bunch

I Learnt something extremely important today, do not even sit in the chair at the hairdressers without a full background check.
A number of things went wrong in the salon.
I forgot the most important question concerning my hair "can you cut curly hair?".
The hairdresser had baby father drama and this was made clear by the way she gave him the v sign and screamed something about smashing his car up if he came near her shop again.
He was one of those crazy steroid filled dudes with veins all over and was extremely emotional and given any longer i am sure he would have broke into song "oh mandy well you came and you gave without taking" because this played in the background, the westlife version not the barry manilow one and coincedently her name was also Mandy.
She didnt tie one of those black bib things around my neck to collect hair.
The shampoo smelt funny like burnt relaxer.
Every now and then she tugged a hidden dreadlock from my hair while pulling frightened faces which made her look like cheri blair.
Too much was taken off the ends.
I wish i asked the first question because no - she could not cut curly hair.
Note to self - Let friends mom do it like she has for the past ten years, change is not good.

Call The Police...Woo Woo Woo

Yesterday afternoon someone needed to call the fashion police on what I was about to walk out of the house wearing. I, with my full legnth mirror as a witness had become a victim of major wardrobe malfunction and in the midst of madness thought it was ok to mix pink, purple, blue and green together. I was so glad that I met my brother on the stairs as people fought for the bathroom and he pointed out that to board a bus in what I was wearing would be social suicide so I opted for the safest option and instead went into town simply black green and trefoil covered. moral of the story = do not defy laws of coordination or you will be embarassed and suffer burning cheek and ear syndrome.

Tupac Poetry...Be Inspired

Liberty Needs Glasses

Excuse me but lady liberty needs glasses
and so does mrs justice by her side
both the broads r blind as bats
stumbling thru the system
justice bumbed into mutulu and
trippin on geronimo pratt
but stepped right over oliver
and his crooked partner ronnie
justice stubbed her big toe on mandela
and liberty was misquoted by the indians
slavery was a learning phase
forgotten with out a verdict
while justice is on a rampage
4 endangered surviving black males
i mean really if anyone really valued life
and cared about the masses
theyd take em both 2 pen optical
and get 2 pair of glasses

When Ure Hero Falls

when your hero falls from grace
all fairy tales r uncovered
myths exposed and pain magnified
the greatest pain discovered
u taught me 2 be strong
but im confused 2 c u so weak
u said never 2 give up
and it hurts 2 c u welcome defeat
when ure hero falls so do the stars
and so does the perception of tomorrow
without my hero there is only
me alone 2 deal with my sorrow
your heart ceases 2 work
and your soul is not happy at all
what r u expected 2 do
when ure only hero falls

Jada

u r the omega of my heart
the foundation of my conception of love
when i think of what a black woman should be
its u that i first think of

u will never fully understand
how deeply my heart feels 4 u
i worry that we'll grow apart
and i'll end up losing u

u bring me 2 climax without sex
and u do it all with regal grace
u r my heart in human form
a friend i could never replace

In The Depths of Solitude

i exist in the depths of solitude
pondering my true goal
trying 2 find peace of mind
and still preserve my soul
constantly yearning 2 be accepted
and from all receive respect
never comprising but sometimes risky
and that is my only regret
a young heart with an old soul
how can there be peace
how can i be in the depths of solitude
when there r 2 inside of me
this duo within me causes
the perfect oppurtunity
2 learn and live twice as fast
as those who accept simplicity

And 2Morrow

Today is filled with anger
fueled with hidden hate
scared of being outcast
afraid of common fate
Today is built on tragedies
which no one wants 2 face
nightmares 2 humanities
and morally disgraced
Tonight is filled with rage
violence in the air
children bred with ruthlessness
because no one at home cares
Tonight I lay my head down
but the pressure never stops
knawing at my sanity
content when I am dropped
But 2morrow I c change
a chance 2 build a new
Built on spirit intent of Heart
and ideals
based on truth
and tomorrow I wake with second wind
and strong because of pride
2 know I fought with all my heart 2 keep my
dream alive

Fallen Star

They could never understand
what u set out 2 do
instead they chose 2
ridicule u
when u got weak
they loved the sight
of your dimming
and flickering starlight
How could they understand what was so intricate
2 be loved by so many, so intimate
they wanted 2 c your lifeless corpse
this way u could not alter the course
of ignorance that they have set
2 make my people forget
what they have done for much 2 long
2 just forget and carry on
I had loved u forever because of who u r
and now I mourn our fallen star

Ambition Over Adversity

Take one's adversity
Learn from their misfortune
Learn from their pain
Believe in something
Believe in yourself
Turn adversity into ambition
Now blossom into wealth

The Rose that Grew from Concrete

Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared.

I Cry

Sometimes when I'm alone
I Cry,
Cause I am on my own.
The tears I cry are bitter and warm.
They flow with life but take no form
I Cry because my heart is torn.
I find it difficult to carry on.
If I had an ear to confiding,
I would cry among my treasured friend,
but who do you know that stops that long,
to help another carry on.
The world moves fast and it would rather pass by.
Then to stop and see what makes one cry,
so painful and sad.
And sometimes...
I Cry
and no one cares about why.

Can You See the Pride in the Panther

Can You See the Pride In the Panther
As he grows in splendor and grace
Topling obstacles placed in the way,
of the progression of his race.
Can You See the Pride In the Panther
as she nurtures her young all alone
The seed must grow regardless
of the fact that it is planted in stone.
Can You See the Pride In the Panthers
as they unify as one.
The flower blooms with brilliance,
and outshines the rays of the sun.

In the Event of My Demise

In the event of my Demise
when my heart can beat no more
I Hope I Die For A Principle
or A Belief that I had Lived 4
I will die Before My Time
Because I feel the shadow's Depth
so much I wanted 2 accomplish
before I reached my Death
I have come 2 grips with the possibility
and wiped the last tear from My eyes
I Loved All who were Positive
In the event of my Demise
